Soroa House

The main idea of the house is developed through its ‘L’ shape, which serves to distribute the different rooms and create daytime areas that open decisively to the outside. In this way, and although these are differentiated spaces, one of the main concepts of the project is the great amplitude and the open areas that allow this union between exterior and interior.

This union is especially reinforced in the day area that opens directly to the outside, in the main space, the water area is located and in the secondary space, a large dining room is proposed.

The swimming pool, located outside, is considered as an element that contrasts with the whole of the house, since its dark tone plays with the reflection of the sky in the plane of the water and the hundred-year-old dragon tree that was located in the parcel.

To locate ourselves in the night area of the house, dedicated to rest and relaxation, we must move to the opposite side of the house, providing total privacy. These spaces run through a corridor that turns its back on the most ‘alive’ area and with the most activity in the house, but allowing the entry of natural light thanks to a line of glass at the top.

The materials and colors that make up the night area provide order and relaxation, unlike the most frequented area of the house. In turn, the colors and materials used in this area of bedrooms and rest rooms are similar to those that make up the exterior of the house seen from the street, reinforcing that connection between the interior and exterior.
