Light and views are two basic concepts on which this home signed by the PUERTA35 ARQUITECTURA studio is based, a studio that already has extensive experience in unique homes in which interior design and architecture merge into one.
Casa SERMA is located in a residential area with privileged views of the Atlantic Ocean. The topography of the place, forces the house to solve the access at a lower level with respect to the exterior space.
The owners wanted a house with functional spaces without sacrificing in any case the beauty of the architecture, for which flexible, spacious and bright spaces are proposed.
The treatment of the envelope is coherent with its interior, being very closed in the lateral direction, generating the greatest possible privacy with the adjoining plot and open in the transverse direction with large glazing that allows the relationship of the interior with the views and exterior spaces. .
The project, with great provocation and formal intentionality, is modeled by vertical and horizontal planes built in white, topped with a cornice in its entire volume. Silver aluminum and glass are the only materials that accompany the white of the façade. Natural light does the rest.
The horizontal plane is resolved by means of large-format stone pavement, with interior and exterior continuity, except for the large windows that are integrated below the pavement level. Inside, all the vertical walls appear in white, in contrast to the green background that causes the outdoor garden.
The interior lighting is designed with linear indirect lighting, supported by integrated spot luminaires with an invisible beam.
Outside, the natural surface dominates, generating the exterior circulations on the same stone material as the interior, the pool is understood as a continuation of the interior and exterior flooring of the house. A fence to the street is projected, in coherence with the rest of the project, solved by means of gray vertical slats, which allow the insinuation from the exterior public space.
The house is developed on three levels, on the first level in contact with the street, the parking and storage spaces are developed, on the second level the day space of the house is developed along with the outdoor areas and on the third level the rooms are developed.
The day area of the house is directly related to the rear garden and the pool. An open space is proposed that revolves around a central element. This central element solves the circulations through a large library on the one hand and the kitchen on the other. The living and dining room space is related to the exterior through large sliding doors, with this we achieve that the interior and exterior of the house merge into a single space. The kitchen island is conceived as a large sculptural piece, a highly textured stone material that adds character to the space.
In the night area of the house there is a large suite with sea views and two rooms related to the garden and pool.
