The original distribution of the excessively compartmentalized house did not respond to the requirements of its new owners. The distribution took place through a long corridor without ventilation and natural light.
The proposal is therefore based on generating flexible and open spaces that broaden the sensation of space and enhance light in the home.
The house is developed through a large linear element as a library that articulates the day and night space of the house.
The kitchen is integrated into the living room where the island is part of the furniture. The tall modules of the kitchen structure the entrance hall, minimizing the views towards the kitchen from the access to the house.
Regarding materiality, a conscious confrontation between hardness and warmth is sought, a punished and hard concrete is softened through the use of welcoming materials and elements such as oak, neutral tones among others that allow obtaining a friendly climate without giving up to the main character of the existing structure.
